Independence means living independently with Assistive Technology for Blind and Partially Sighted People in Wiltshire

Blind and Partially Sighted people living in Wiltshire are being offered an innovative opportunity to attend a one stop shop for Assistive Technology and Information on Thursday 10th September at St Lucy’s Sight Centre, Browfort, Devizes between 10am and 2pm.

Wiltshire Sight a local independent Charity who have listened to what Blind and Partially sighted people want and need and have put together this event aimed to showcase the best Assistive Technology Available. A range of the latest Technology and Resources will be available to try out and information and advice available on how they can assist in everyday situations.

Wiltshire Sights Team of Specialist Sight Advisors will also be on hand to offer practical and emotional support as well as information on a variety of topics including Managing your Eye Condition and what’s available in your area.

“We have found by talking to those with Sight Loss in Wiltshire that so many people are not aware of what’s available to assist them to maintain their independence and carry on doing the things they enjoy the most. There are some amazing products and techniques out there to support people and we are working hard to enable people to get the information and support they need. This event is just the start”, said Leanne Hubbard, Chief Executive, Wiltshire Sight.

The event is free to attend and will be of interest to those with a sight loss, their families and professionals who work in the social care field. It takes place on Thursday 10th September, 2015 from 10am to 2pm at St Lucy’s Sight Centre Browfort Bath Road Devizes SN10 2AT.
