A legacy can provide hope

Sight loss can have devastating consequences. It can restrict social interaction, cause isolation, remove a person’s independence and lead to low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence and depression. Wiltshire Sight exists to ensure that individuals living with sight loss are fully supported to live their lives independently and to the full.

A legacy, or a gift in your will, is a practical way to ensuring that those living with sight loss are provided with the essential, local support they need for generations to come.

If you are wondering when the best time to write your will is, there is never a wrong time! We can’t predict what will happen next, and the only way you know your wishes will be fulfilled is through making a will. It is easy to change your will at any time in your life, so it is never too early.

You can make an appointment with a solicitor, and we suggest thinking about the following things ahead of your appointment:

- List your assets and debts
- List any special items you want left to particular friends or family
- Decide who will carry out your wishes as your Executors
- Think about who to appoint as Guardians if you have children
- List any other gifts you might like to make and to whom.
Remember, a gift to a charity in your will can reduce Inheritance Tax.

If you would like to support Wiltshire Sight in your will, ask your solicitor to include Wiltshire Sight in the list of bequests in your will. For absolute clarity, we also recommend including our registered charity number -  1119462.
If you have any questions or would like to talk to us about your support, please call Katie on 01380 723682.

All money kindly donated to Wiltshire Sight is spent on local, face to face support in Wiltshire and Swindon, and we would just like to remind our friends and supporters that we are NOT part of RNIB or Guide Dogs.

Wiltshire Sight is registered in England and Wales under charity number 1119462 and company number 6060187 at St.Lucy's Sight Centre, Browfort, Bath Road, Devizes, SN10 2AT. We use cookies to improve your experience using this website.
