Community Sight Loss Advisors hold a number of regular clinics in accessible locations across Wiltshire and Swindon, providing both drop-in opportunities and private consultations by appointment.

Alan Whetherly

Alan and his guide dog Judy escaped to Wiltshire in January 2018 and he joined Vision West of England as a Sight Advisor in April the same year. Since graduating from Leeds, Alan has worked in the field of sight loss for 25 years including working at RNIB, Kent Association for the Blind and Croydon Vision.  He has also developed sports programmes for children and young people with sight loss across London and delivered sight loss awareness training in the Hotel and Tourism sector.  Alan’s hobbies include visually impaired tennis, he was national champion in 2011 & 2012 and he has completed 14 marathons.

Alan covers West Wiltshire including Malmesbury, Chippenham, Melksham, Corsham, Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon, Calne

Louise Kutzner

Louise Zutzner- Community Sight Loss Advisor

Louise joined the team in April 2019 having previously worked in schools with children with Special Educational Needs.  Louise lives in Wiltshire and volunteers locally for a youth mentoring charity as well as fundraising for Bath Cats and Dogs home and Cancer Research UK.  Outside of work and volunteering Louise enjoys yoga, cycling, walking and spending time with her rescue cat Buddy.

Alison Richmond

Alison Richmond- Community Sight Loss Advisor

Alison joined the team in 2019 having worked in the charity sector with wounded, injured and sick serving armed forces, veterans and their families.  After 20 years of being on the move Alison has now settled in South Wiltshire and enjoys anything  to do with the outdoors.

Sarah O'Rourke

Sarah O'Rourke- Family Support Worker

Sarah is our Family Support Worker, she joined Wiltshire Sight in 2015 after taking three years out of work to raise her daughter Evie. Sarah firstly joined the organisation as an Assistive Technology and Resource Coordinator, before taking up the role of Family Support Worker in 2017.  Sarah also runs our Zoom Club which supports children and young people who are blind or partially sighted and arranges exciting activities that the whole family can do together. Outside of work Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, socialising and relaxing with friends.

Sarah works in the Devizes resource centre and with families from across the region.
